Inter-City Upbeat is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 1997 by Bishop Tommy Tipton a pastor who recognized the need to help provide family bonding and family building relationships among homes-with-families using faith based churches of the community. Inter-City Upbeat is dedicated to restoring homes-with-families in crisis to stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services to the entire home-with-family and their children.
The Inter-City Upbeat “We Care for Families” helps homes-with-families who are living below the federal poverty level or other extenuating circumstances to become self-sufficiency through an array of learning tools and services through Life-Skills, Parenting Skills, Financial Literacy, Mental Health, Health/Safety and Spiritual Enrichment.
The organization’s mission and core activities center on the belief that a home-with-family's basic needs must be met before systemic change can occur within the home or individual. To achieve this we provide faith-based family mentoring, rental/bill assistance when needed and supportive services to families in crisis.
